Neverwinter

This MMORPG was inspired by the classic Dungeons & Dragons games and is set in the world of Forgotten Realms; anyone familiar with D&D will recognize many of the locations in the game which places emphasis on story. It features 13 different races with their own racial bonuses along with seven unique classes that allow players to create a playstyle that suits them.

The D&D inspiration has also stretched to the combat to provide a skill-based system where players need to actively dodge and aim each attack or ability. It results in a fast-paced system that is highly engaging while also offering a challenge even when fighting the NPC monsters. PvP systems in the game are quite limited and often result in mis-matched battles that aren’t very fun.

Neverwinter is an engaging MMORPG with a lot to offer gamers however, players looking for a competitive PvP system should look elsewhere as this game places emphasis on the narrative, quests and PvE combat.

Revelation Online

Revelation Online is one of the most exciting MMORPG that has been released this year. It came from experienced developer NetEase. This new game has first been released in China and now is available world wide.  It includes great features and fantastic graphic which makes it lots of fun to play.

There are six different classes to select from and four confirmed jobs which contain additional combat skills; players have complete freedom with their skill points to create a totally unique playstyle then re-assign them to suit specific situations, As a bonus, there are three combat targeting systems featured in the game for players to select between and find one that suits them.

Combat and customization play important roles in Revelation Online and the permanent flight mechanic allows players to explore the world without restriction; there is a lot to explore in this highly anticipated MMORPG.

Tera

Tera is a popular MMORPG with a strong playerbase and a world filled with content; players have a large amount of customization available to them with over 5 unique classes and 10 different classes in the game.

Combat is very engaging where players need to actively dodge and attack enemies using a range of abilities; while the combat is very good, there is quite a bit of grinding and quests can become repetitive in the later stages of the game. Players can also engage in a range of different PvP modes such Duels where players can challenge each other anywhere in the game.

It’s clear that Tera has a lot of good qualities and the varied gameplay should keep players entertained for many hours but it does fall victim to the classic issue for grinding.

War Thunder

War Thunder is a World War II MMO action game where players battle in a range of gamemodes using aerial and ground units. There are a wide variety of vehicles available to players which are unlocked over time or with premium currency; the vehicle range is nice and the controls them are different for the realistic and arcade gamemodes.

The variation is both interesting and fun however, the more realistic modes feature a very steep learning curve that can be off-putting. While there is a nice campaign in the game, this is something that must be purchased from the cash store; most players should be able to enjoy the PvP modes for quite some time without becoming bored so purchasing the campaign is not a necessity.

This is a very nice MMO action game and it features some interesting content that should appeal to most shooter fans; it does have some learning curve issues that could frustrate some players and being able to skip some portions of the game using the cash store could be annoying for free-to-play players.

Star Conflict

This space MMO places emphasis on space battles, customizing ships and building powerful corporations which act as the guilds in Star Conflict. Players can customize their ship as they progress through the game and earn currency however, this can be skipped by purchasing premium currency to upgrade ships are a much more rapid pace.

Combat is the main focus of the game and the controls work for it nicely, unlike other similar games there is no steep learning curve to frustrate new players. Instead, there is a good tutorial with various PvE modes for players to battle enemy AI to get used to the game before battling other players. There are a range of gamemodes to select from which all bring an interesting twist to the game.

Star Conflict is a nice space MMO action game with a good range of content but the pay-to-win nature of the PvP can result in very unbalanced matches.

World of Warships

World of Warships is a naval based action MMO where players battle in sea based arena’s to complete objectives and devastate the other team. There are a wide range of ship types to select fromworld-of-warships including battleships and cruisers which each play a unique role on the battlefield; each ship can be upgraded to make them better suited to different roles or playstyles.

Gameplay is incredibly tactical and strategy is key if victory is to be attained, players can use a wide range of weapons and items to give them an advantage. Combat can be very slow paced at times as rushing movements will result in a quick death and players must use the environment to take cover to avoid being exposed. While the combat can be very engaging, there are very few gamemodes in World of Warships and it’s possible for them to become repetitive over time.

It’s a nice free to play action MMO game and for strategy fans, this is an easy choice; other games could become frustrated with the slow-paced combat however.

S.K.I.L.L

S.K.I.L.L – Special Force 2 is an online FPS game where players battle in team-based warfare with various game modes to select from; while the game features classic modes such as Team Deathmatch, it also features a mode similar to Capture the Flag and a Bomb Defusal mode. Matchmaking works pretty quickly for this game and being on Steam does give it access to a much larger playerbase making it good for casual games.

It’s not just a casual game however, there is a competitive leaderboard that displays the highest ranked players along with their win ratio and kill/death ratio. This encourages players to play well and can result in more ‘serious’ matches where players want to improve their public scores. The leaderboard has various search options making it easy for players to find themselves and their friends on it.

While this game has a lot of potential, it does have quite a few issues with map design, poorly sized hit boxes, graphical issues and very expensive cash store purchases; players can purchase a range of items from the in-game store using the premium currency.

World of Tanks

World of Tanks is the infamous WWII MMO action game from developer Wargaming which has taken the MMO action genre by storm; the team-based game was first released in 2011 and has received regular updates over the years.

The gameplay is focused around strategic combat that encourages players to work together by using tactics to defeat the other team and complete objectives; the main gamemode is the Random Battle mode which contains three different gametypes of 15v15 battles. The other modes are focused towards clans and also include a browser-based meta game where clans battle to control zones in different regions.

While the classes are well-balanced in the game, matches are usually very slow paced which can either make them tense or very tedious depending on the player. There is enough variation in World of Tanks to keep the game entertaining but the steep learning curve makes this a difficult game to get into.

Spellstone

Spellstone is a free-to-play online card game with a fantasy setting and an actual story line; many CCGs lack a single player mode but Spellstone features entertaining stories and events which branching plots for players to explore. There are over 90 levels in the single player story to complete and three unique factions in the game with their own cards that allows players to create their own playstyles.

Multiplayer in Spellstone works well but there are clear pay-to-win elements here, especially towards the higher levels. There is an expensive in-game store which sells cards and other necessary items which can also be earned by grinding story levels. It’s frustrating to see this in the game as it results in a unbalanced PvP system that become frustrating after a few matches however, the PvP modes in this game are very active with a fast matchmaking system.

While this game is great for casual play and the single player mode, it lacks good end-game content and the pay-to-win elements can ruin the multiplayer experience.

Crossfire

This MMOFPS places emphasis on teamwork where players are spread across two different teams of mercenaries; there are also a large number of gamemodes to select from with some unusual modes that make for a nice change from the classic Team Deathmatch mode which is in almost all FPS games.

While PvP is the main focus of the gameplay, there is a PvE mode where players fight to survive the hordes of NPC zombies and fight of several bosses. There are a good range of modes in this game and it has a relatively strong player base that keep matchmaking times down.

There is quite a bit of character customization in this game which comes in the form of selecting weapons, items and more. These items can be gained by purchasing them from the store using money earned by playing games or from the premium store with cash. Guns are quite expensive when using in-game money so that game can feel quite pay-to-win for new players.

Crossfire is a nice MMOFPS, the game has a lot to offer players as both a casual and hardcore game which makes this a worthwhile game to check out.

Uncharted Waters Online

uncharted-waters-onlineUncharted Waters Online is a 3D MMORPG where the player is able to explore the globe with their own ship. This ocean themed game is set in the European Age of Exploration where a variety of different nations are exploring the world.

There are six nations to select from and players are able to fully customize their character by selecting from a range of premade options which can feel a little limiting. The most limiting part however is the fact that there are only three starting classes, selecting one will set the skills that the player starts with.

Emphasis is placed on the players’ individual journey with quests being given to them that specific to their class and professions; it makes each playthrough feel unique in a way by providing a more personalized experience. This hasn’t stopped the game from being quite slow-paced at times. As an ocean based and exploration focused game, it’s not surprising that the gameplay can be very tedious or repetitive.

Wizard101
This unusual MMORPG allows players to become a student of magic while using a turn-based combat system to defeat other spellcasters; there are several schools of magic for players to join which dictate what types of spells that players can use.

Wizard101 is targeted at a younger audience and as a result, a lot of gamers may not enjoy it but the game is still solid. It blends MMORPG with a collectible card game which forms the basis of the combat. It’s an interesting system that works relatively well and results in very strategic gameplay.

Sadly, most of the content in this game is locked behind a paywall; if players aren’t willing to pay to unlock all of the areas in the game, they can pay to unlock specific zones which would allow them to complete certain quests. It’s a very annoying system that allows the game to masquerade as a free-to-play game when this is definitely not.

Players who are willing to purchase into the game should enjoy the gameplay in Wizard101; the combat is entertaining and strategic without being excessively violent which makes it good for younger players.

Best Browser Based MMORPG 2017

Browser MMORPGs are not only fun and rather addictive, but they are also very convenient to play. After all, you won’t need any huge client downloads or lengthy game installation and patching. All you need to do is to boot the game up on your browser and enjoy!

SAO’s Legend

This browser-based MMORPG is set in the world of Sword Art Online and is based in the fantasy land of Aincrad. There is very limited customization in this game as players are given control of a SAO character based on which class they select. Despite the lack of physical customization, players still have a range of equipment to customize and select between. This adds some choice back into the game and provides a limited customization system for players to explore.

Combat in SAO’s Legend is automated and while some players will enjoy this as it allows players to go AFK; it does mean that there is very little gameplay here and players looking for high action will need to look elsewhere.

Girlfriends exist in the game as ‘pets’ who follow the player around on missions and assist the player in battle; it’s also possible to marry other players and there are a range of mounts to collect.

SAO’s Legend lacks content and while this game is entertaining for short periods, it quickly become repetitive and tedious.

Bleach Online

As far as browser-based MMORPG’s go, Bleach Online is quite a weak one in comparison to some others in this genre. While the gameplay is mostly automated, there is plenty of content for players to explore which can keep players entertained for quite some time. Being automated does have an advantage, there’s no need for players to actively run between NPC’s when collecting or handing in quests but this does mean that the game lacks action.

Combat is still a major role in the game and there are three classes for players to select from which determine their role in battle; battle is fought alongside a party which is highly customizable so that players can create a unique party that suits them. The PvP side of the game is very orientated towards pay-to-win where free players will struggle to deal defeat any members of the enemy party however, it does use a ranking system that does slightly fix this issue.

Bleach Online is a MMORPG set in the popular world of the Bleach manga and anime, fans of the series should enjoy this game for some time but it lacks the qualities that would encourage players to return.

Abyss: Dark Arisen

Abyss Dark Arisen
Abyss: Dark Arisen is a brand new, browser MMORPG that cast you into the role of a hero who was tasked to retrieve all the elemental crystals the Goddess Una has left on the mortal realm in an attempt to stop the evil dragon that was sealed in the abyss from getting free.

The game features 3 character classes (Warrior, Mage and Priest), a unique Warsoul system, dragon stele that you can socket your dragon souls you’ve earned, challenging elite dungeons with team-up advantages, Nobility (Fame) and Honor in PvP, gear enhancement and refinement, mount system, wings and a prize-drawing system.

Drakensang Online

Drakensang Online is a browser-based MMORPG that follows the classic gameplay element seen in Action RPGs such as Diablo; it features a hack-and-slash style combat system which suits this genre nicely. While this can be played in a browser, it can also be downloaded and launched through a client.

Combat in this game is very entertaining and fast-paced but there are a few crucial limitations in this game; there are four playable classes to select from with limited customization and unlike other MMORPGS, this game is focused around premium currency. The cash shop currency is dropped by enemies on their death which allows all players to grind for it and purchase cosmetics from the store. While this sounds good, it does mean that the game is filled with grinding and can be very tedious as a result.

This is a nice MMORPG with some great gameplay mechanics that make it easy to compare this game to Diablo and other ARPG titles such as Grim Dawn; it does place heavy emphasis on the cash store however which does result in quite a bit of grinding.

Forge of Empires

As 2D browser-based MMORTS games go, Forge of Empires is a good choice from an experienced developer; InnoGames has previously created the classic Tribal Wars game which is still popular today. Forge of Empires takes the player through a range of era’s where the aim is to grow from a small Stone Age village into a power Modern Day empire.

It boasts an in-depth single player campaign where the player must grow their city by managing resources, researching new technologies, upgrading buildings and waging war against enemy cities or barbarians. There is plenty to unlock and discover in this game but progressing through the game can be very slow however, slow gameplay is normal in the RTS genre. Unlike other games in this genre, it has very few PvP options and the game is focused towards conquering the neighboring provinces in the game.

Combat in Forge of Empires is unique in the MMORTS genre, players battle in a turn-based grid system where the player is able to directly change the course of battle and decide how to attack the enemy. The system allows for interesting and well-balanced combat that clearly stands out in the genre.

Animal Jam

Animal Jam is the MMO game released by the National Geographic in 2010 which is targeted at a much younger audience than most other MMO games. It’s set in a fictional place called Jamaa where players create their own animal by customizing it’s appearance and dressing it in clothing. There are plenty of options for customization in this game as players can customize their own house which is named a “den” and there are a range of items which can be purchased from the in-game store.

While this game features classic MMORPG elements such as adventures, pets and levels, there are a number of things that the game is lacking; the most noticeable is the missing combat system where players need to lead enemies into Venus Fly Traps to be eaten instead.

This game is definitely not a classic MMORPG but it does feature some of the classic mechanics that make them great; for teenagers and younger gamers, this is a nice choice but players looking for a more action-packed MMO will need to look elsewhere.

League of Angels 2

league-of-angels-2With your team of heroes behind your back, you’ll need to take down the Plague Queen and her horde of minions and mind-controlled angels in the sequel to one of the most popular browser MMORPGs, League of Angels 2. In this game, you’ll need to summon new heroes through praying or ritualistic summoning and add them to your squad in the best possible formation. The game provides affinity effects, which will grant bonus stats when activated, so it’s best to deploy heroes that are not at odds with each other. Heroes can even be augmented by upgrading their equipments, adding prisms to increase their stats, and learning new abilities.

There are also plenty of PvE and PvP dungeons and arenas you can participate in. PvE aside from the usual quest dungeons, you’ll also encounter Elite Dungeons where you can get gear for your heroes, Abyss where you can get gear shards to eventually craft a complete equipment item, and Hero Trials where you can get upgrade materials. These dungeons can usually be blitzed after you’ve completed the specific dungeon for the very first time. For PvP, there are events like Domination, cross-server wars and guild wars in addition to the usual arena 1-on-1 fights.

League of Angels 2 does its predecessor justice by offering its players plenty to do and enjoy in the game while keeping the angels vs demons part of its lore intact. If you love League of Angels, you’ll enjoy playing League of Angels 2 for sure!

Dragon Blood

With the blood of the dragon rushing in your veins, you are able to call upon the power of the dragon and rain massive destruction down on yourdragon-blood enemies in this brand new browser MMORPG, Dragon Blood. Save the world from the monsters it is facing by levelling up your team of heroes and their abilities, stats and gear items. Team formation and strength also play a very important role in determining whether a battle would be a success or an utter disaster.

Similar to other browser MMORPGs, the game offers plenty of quests, dungeons, and various PvP leagues and guild battles for you to enjoy. For instance, the Crypt will reward you with valuable XP fruits which you can then use to level up your heroes, while the boss dungeons gives you the chance to prove your worth by taking on some of the toughest bosses in the game for a chance of getting really amazing loot. Depending on how many turns you take to defeat all the enemies, you’ll be rewarded accordingly.

Dragon Blood may not feel different from many of the other browser MMORPGs currently available on the internet, but it does have a certain charm that casual MMO gamers would definitely find irresistible. After all, just how many other games allow you to wield the power of the dragon?

Best Pay to Play MMORPG 2017

Pay to play games are losing popularity with the gaming community – just take a look at previously pay to play games like Wildstar that have been forced to switch over to the free to play model in order to stay afloat – but of course, this doesn’t seem to be affecting the world’s most popular pay to play MMORPG, World of Warcraft as much though.

That being said, here’s the best pay to play MMORPGs that you should definitely try.

World of Warcraft: Legion World Warcraft Legion
As mentioned, World of Warcraft (WoW) is perhaps the longest standing pay to play MMORPG that has weathered the sands of time. However, its subscription numbers are drooping, and hence, WoW is releasing a brand new expansion, WoW: Legion, which will boost the level cap up to 110, and provide players with a brand new continent, the Broken Isles, along with a slew of new dungeons that they can explore and plunder. There will also be customisable artefact weapons, another epic storyline, class-specific halls and followers (much like Skyforge’s Order system), 1 free character boost (up to level 100), and a range of improvements done to augment existing in-game systems and game mechanics.

The best part in this expansion though is definitely the new Hero class, the Demon Hunter. They are able to wield the demonic power of the Legion, have some sort of an X-Ray-vision ability, can morph into various fel forms, and can glide, provided that they have wings to do so in the first place. So, circle the month of September on your calendars because I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to miss this!

Best Buy to Play MMORPG 2017

With Guild Wars 2 championing the buy to play model, more and more MMORPGs are starting to see the value in making their games buy to play… I’m talking about you, The Elder Scrolls Online. Well, that being said, here are some of the best buy to play MMORPGs of 2017.

Life is Feudal

Life Is Feudal
If you enjoy hardcore-type, old-school MMORPGs, then Life is Feudal is definitely a game you’ll look forward to. The game will be set in the, obviously, feudal ages, when knights got all the glory and kings ruled the lands. In this game, you’ll be able to change the landscape of the sandbox in-game environment in any way you like. This opens up a whole new range of possibilities that you can then explore, such as digging moats for the castle you will want to build or dig underground tunnels that will eventually lead to your comfy underground home. Of course, you’ll also be able to gather resources to craft tools and items that you’ll need. Furthermore, being an MMORPG, the game will also provide exciting sieges and raids, open world PvP, and many more events that you can participate in.

The main game of Life is Feudal will be based on the usual buy to play model. However, the MMO aspect of the game will be a combination of buy to play and free to play. This means that players will be able to play the MMO version of Life is Feudal for free, but you’ll be restricted to only the newbie island and that any progress you make will be wiped at the end of the day. To leave the newbie island, you’ll then need to shell over some real cash. The game will even be featuring an in-game store selling vanity items.

Link: Lifeisfeudal official website

Black Desert Online

Black Desert Online
Black Desert Online is similar to Blade & Soul in many ways, especially in terms of their in-depth character customisation and the general Asian theme that they both used. However, Black Desert Online features action-based combat that supposedly will put TERA to shame, and a completely open world that players are actually encouraged to explore. Apparently, there are many goodies hidden in the game world for players to find.

The winning feature in Black Desert Online though is hands-down its in-depth mount system which includes horseback combat. You are given an additional skill bar when mounted and from there, you can control how your mount attacks your enemies. This unique feature will definitely put the game up as a strong contender (against Blade & Soul) for the title of the Best MMORPG of 2017.

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Tom-Clancys-The-DivisionBeing touted as an open world RPG/Third person shooter game, Tom Clancy’s The Division developed and published by Ubisoft is quite a unique game. Featuring game mechanics like the tactical cover-based system that almost all Tom Clancy-inspired games (like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Phantoms) have and gorgeous yet dreary in-game environs, players will have to rely on their shooting skills and their wits to survive a harsh post-apocalyptic New York City. The game also features a Dark Zone where players will need to keep an eye constantly over their shoulders for their allies could turn rogue at any possible moment and that rogue agents could set up an ambush to steal their hard-earned loot.

The game recently received some love from Ubisoft in the form of a major update, where a new game mode, Incursion, was introduced. In this mode, players can band together to fight a boss-like entity for glorious loot. There are also plenty of exciting quests to do, locations to explore, clothes to collect, and baddies to kill, The Division is definitely a game to play. Unfortunately, the game has been plagued with almost endless reports of cheaters, hackers and exploiters, causing a lot of hoo-ha over the matter. However, once Ubisoft puts some anti-hacking and more severe punishments in place, it is possible for the game to be friendly enough to newer players.

Guild Wars 2

guild-wars-2Guild Wars 2 is a unique MMORPG with a dynamic world and story that adapts to the player’s choices; this free-to-play fantasy game allows players to create their own story depending on the choices they made at the start of the game and the actions they make as it progresses. There are five playable races in the game and nine different classes to select from in the game which provide a range of playstyles.

Combat is highly engaging where players need to actively move, aim attacks and abilities while also dodging incoming enemy attacks; the enemies are also fairly intelligent and will actively respond to the player and their movements. The skill system allows for a large amount of customization so that it’s possible to switch skillsets at any time to better suit the situation.

The unique solo content is accompanied by a variety of PvP modes which provides both casual and hardcore modes; it’s a nice selection of modes that work well to break up the repetitive grinding that the single-player campaign is filled with.

Best Upcoming MMORPG 2017

Being lifelong gamers, life may seem dull if we have nothing to look forward to. Well, that just wouldn’t do, would it? Thus, we have compiled an epic list of the best upcoming MMORPGs of 2017 for MMO gamers worldwide. Do take a few minutes to check it out!

Crowfall

crowfall
Can’t get enough of the drama in Game of Thrones? Well, you’ll be delighted to know that you’ll be able to experience all of that in this epic upcoming MMORPG, Crowfall. Funded by Kickstarter, this purportedly ‘throne war’ MMO will feature 5 different worlds where you could use campaign resources to change the landscape. There will be various pantheons, each having their own ideologies and agendas that you can pledge your allegiance to, and a wide range of race and character class combinations, including playing as a Minotaur-like myrmidon, a demihuman frostweaver, and even a human confessor.

In terms of combat, you’ll be able to lay siege to castles and engage in some exciting PvP action on a massive scale as well. The economy in the game is also entirely player-driven, so if you have a good business-oriented mind, you could easily set up vendors, establish trade routes and build your very own mercantile empire.

The game developers, ArtCraft Entertainment, has released a statement on the FAQ part of their website mentioning that Crowfall will be buy to play. If you’re interested to be one of the first to check this game out, you can sign up to be a beta tester now and hopefully be selected for their first closed beta test in winter of 2016.

Camelot Unchained

Camelot Unchained
Camelot Unchained is another Kickstarter-funded, but equally amazing upcoming medieval fantasy MMORPG that is based on an old-school MMORPG, Dark Age of Camelot. Camelot Unchained will offer 3 realms (a.k.a. factions), namely the Arthurians, the Tuatha De Danann and the Vikings, for you to choose from, and is said to emphasize large scale PvP battles (though there are still small skirmishes available) over scarce resources. The game consists of an open world sandbox environment where players could craft and build their own cities and towns. The A.I.R system that this game utilises makes the combat in this game unique as well. In this game, you will be able to combine your abilities and skills with the objects or elements around you to produce a new effect.

The game is rumoured to be entering into the closed beta phase at the beginning of Spring 2016, and if everything goes according to plan, the game would be able to make it for launch in 2017.

SkySaga: Infinite Isles

Skysaga
With Trove gaining so much popularity, it is perhaps time for another voxel-based adventure MMORPG that may just be able to topple Trove from its pedestal – SkySaga: Infinite Isles. Similar to Trove, and Minecraft, SkySaga provides a beautiful, colourful and procedurally generated in-game environment that is yours to explore. Each generated island usually contains an adventure that you can complete for a chance of earning awesome loot. These islands can be visited via portals in the game. Being an MMORPG, the game also features co-op function and even open world PvP, where you can hunt down your enemies with your friends.

Not to mention, players will be able to unleash their creativity and create magnificent architectural masterpieces in the game too… anything you can think of (within the logical constrains of in-game physics and game mechanics), you will be able to build in SkySaga. However, the best part about all of this is that, in SkySaga, players are given their own permanent home island which they can do as they please.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen

pantheon-rise-of-the-fallenSet in the lush yet merciless world of Terminus, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is a high fantasy upcoming MMORPG that will definitely take your breath away. In addition to the game’s impressive and in-depth lore of various civilizations vying for power, Pantheon also provides a rather wide range of character races for you to choose from – 9 to be exact, and some of them can be really unique, such as the merpeople-like Myrs, the vigorous Archai, and the demon-like Skar. Each of the races has their own respective backstories that rivals the lore of the game itself in its depth.

There are even up to 12 different classes to select from, which is quite a large number of classes for an MMORPG, a very unique atmosphere/climate system that will directly affect how you play the game, a progeny system where you can retire “old characters” and play with a younger but yet slightly stronger progeny character, and more.

The best part though is that Pantheon will attempt to bring back true cooperative MMO gameplay by being a lot more social and forcing players to group up with friends or even strangers if they ever hope to progress quick enough in the game. Albion Online

albion-online

Currently in closed beta, Albion Online is an upcoming sandbox-type MMORPG that places a lot of emphasis on the 3 main aspects of any MMORPGs that include crafting, trading and conquest. For crafting, the game features quite a range of professions, both gathering and crafting professions, for you to choose from. There’s even a farming profession where you can plant, grow and harvest crops which can then be contributed to your guild to fuel the guild’s war efforts.

In terms of trading, the game will contain a player-driven economy. This means that the players themselves will determine how much an item should be priced. There are also marketplaces for trading and you could even invest in the goods transporting business and haul items from one city to another. For conquest, the game has many PvP battlegrounds, guild vs guild wars and PvE battles for you to prove your mettle. In this game, there are absolutely no character classes or any such restrictions. Instead, you are what you wear.

There are also player housing, the Destiny board which functions like a talent tree, and lands around the world for you to buy and own. The game even claims that it is the first ever to provide a truly cross-platform experience, meaning that you’ll be able to play Albion Online on your PC and also mobile devices.

Sage of Lucimia

saga-of-lucimiaSage of Lucimia is an upcoming group-based MMORPG that blends the classic table-top RPG style with standard MMORPG gameplay; it uses a style similar to table-top Dungeons & Dragons where players must work together to progress through the game. It’s been in early access for several years and is finally due for release in 2017.

Players can form parties of up to eight and create unique characters with a skill-based system that doesn’t depend on classes; it allows a large amount of freedom to form new playstyles and devise an interesting cast of characters.

It’s a co-op focused game where almost everything demands assistance from other players; small sections of the game can be played solo such as exploring cities or encampments but some crafting actually requires help from another person. This is purely a PvE game and no PvP is currently planned for the final version. It seems to be a n interesting MMORPG that will appeal mostly to pre-made groups of players and is a very niche game.
