The AX18A robot servo retains the formfactor and all of the same features of its predecessor: the ability to track its speed, temperature, shaft position, voltage, and load.

WARNING: This is NOT compatible with AX12 or AX18F, because the gear shape is different from the previous AX12AX18F Gear Set. Exclusive gear set for the DYNAMIXEL AX18A Compounded high strength engineering plastic is used. The Dynamixel AX18A Smart Serial Servo has the same performance but more advanced external design than the AX18F.

AX18A is 100 compatible with the AX Control Table. The Control Table is a structure of data implemented in the DYNAMIXEL. Users can read a specific Data to get status of the DYNAMIXEL with Read Instruction Packets, and modify Data as well to control DYNAMIXEL with WRITE Instruction Packets.
